The Surreal Women of Tsubasa

March 12, 2010 · 0 comments

Artist Tsubasa creates these wonderful erotic images of women combined with machine-like devices. Sometimes these machines almost look like torturing machines, but often they seem like an extension of the body itself or are part of the clothing the women wear.

In a way his work reminds me of H.R. Giger, however his work is not quite as dark. They do have a similar concept of weaving humans and surreal machinery together within one image. Tsubasa uses real photos of women and blends them in a rendered environment. I would imagine that there would always be a “visual gap” between the two, but somehow he is able to create a perfect fit.

The great thing about this is mixture of real women and rendering is that the women in these images are more sexy then manually created ones. Even with all the nice tools out there ( DAZ, Poser, Maya & Max ) there’s always something “plastic” about digitally created humans.
